i really liked what you had to say about this particular blog. it seems to me that you have a grasp on what the blogger is trying to be and what you are looking for in your searches. it is also very funny, which is definitly a plus. for example you said

"The weapon he wields is common sense, something the “other team” is missing, and although he is a smarty-pants, Alan takes care never to patronize or pander"

this is really good both in terms of analyzing the blog as well as creating an character for your own blog.

keep up the good work,

I lived in Burbank with Alan for a year before we were married, and he exposed me to the Hollywood life style! I love your post...Alan never gives himself enough credit. He is marvelously smart and terrifically funny.
He isn't a banker, but certainly more than a copywriter.

"Alan the suit-wearing banker (he claims he’s a copywriter, but I doubt it)."

Now, who would actually claim to be such a thing if he were not? In fact, I AM a copywriter, one who - as you rightly point out - shamelessly pimps out his limited talents to anyone who stops by the site.

Wow. Thanks for this write-up! I've never read anything like this about myself, and it's got me feeling a bit giddy and strange. But I do appreciate the attention, and you've got most everything right, so it's impossible for me to complain.

Two items, briefly:

There are several rather concise reasons that the site is called "Burbanked". For some reason, I've never told them on the site and no one has ever asked. If they do, I will! Suffice it to say that Burbank (the town name) has little, if anything, to do with Pittsburgh (the town).

Do you find the site's bells and whistles "confusing" or "overwhelming"? Is it too distracting in general? I'm not being sarcastic; I'm truly interested in the feedback. Sometimes I err on the side of "more is more", so it's worthwhile to hear dissenting opinions.

Regardless, I do appreciate your kind words and your linkage. I'll try to live up to the level of quality that you have generously - if wholly inaccurately - ascribed to my site. :)
